A Round-up of the Kreaverse
|
The month of November signifies the will to look back, pause, and reflect on the learnings of the year. Albeit at Krea, this is the drill every day, in line with Krea’s ethos of preparing for the future with the lessons from the past. As we slowly edge into the last few weeks of the year, we reaffirm that the status quo can be questioned, that alternative futures can be created, and that we do not always have to wait for a change but instead need to act on bringing about that change.
As we slow down into this reflective and restorative phase of the year, we process the lessons we garnered throughout the year and reinstate our mission statement. We find comfort in adapting, transforming, and evolving.
This week, Dr Prithvi Datta Chandra Shobhi assumed the role of Dean of the School of Interwoven Arts and Sciences ( SIAS), Krea University and we look forward to his guidance in writing new chapters of the Krea story. Faculty and students continued penning chapters of their own with crucial conversations. At the time of curating this edition, the Wellbeing Week by the Inclusive Learning Support (ILS) office was gearing up for its second edition. This and so much more are culminating within the Krea world as we speak.
At Krea we are creating a legacy worth preserving and each member in the Kreaverse contributes each day in their own significant manner to keep the flame burning bright. Krea, this Week is a testament to this spirit. And like any young institution that envisages leading the change, we also bear the weight of expectations, which is a bittersweet accomplishment in itself. At Krea we are on our mission together, each day, every day.

Dr Prajna Desai, PhD, History of Art, Yale University, who is presently an independent writer, curator, and translator, recently conducted a two-day engaging workshop tapping into Landscape as Vision, Place, and Change on November 15 and 16, 2023 at Krea University. The workshop was facilitated by Dr Srajana Kaikini, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, SIAS, Krea University. The intensive discussion mainly entailed recognising the rich intersectionality of landscapes, the human body, architecture, socio-political movements, and media. Spanning two days, the attendees of the workshop gained valuable insights on how crucial a role landscapes have played in societal development at a global scale.
As a part of the workshop, the participants were made to form groups and conceptualise spontaneous projects encapsulating their intricate relations with a particular landscape. Furthermore, the groups were made to present their collaborative projects with a detailed breakup of their visions, and necessary logistics to support the same. As a testament to the creative rigour of the workshop, Kreators indeed turned up with a bunch of innovative proposals, and their efforts were thoroughly lauded by Dr Desai. The workshop turned out to be a grand success with the combined efforts of Dr Desai and the Global Arts Department at Krea University.

In a radiant celebration of Diwali, HerCampus organised a diya painting workshop, in the Atrium at the Sri City Campus on November 11, 2023, ushering in the festive season by encouraging the student body to showcase their creativity on locally sourced traditional clay lamps. HerCampus provided the participants with an array of paints and embellishments, and each diya became a canvas for creativity. The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm as attendees, seasoned artists, and first-timers crafted unique and personalised diyas. Beyond the paints and decorations, the workshop was not just a painting exercise but also a cultural immersion and was a grand success.

The expression of a gene, for the manifestation of a physiological or anatomical feature, depends on the environmental and lifestyle context. A person’s normal, or basal, state of health is different from another’s and is the correct background against which any deviation from the basal state must be sensed, recognised, viewed, or measured. To record faithfully and in fine contextual detail, a person’s past and current physiological health, and to predict, with tolerable error, any aberrations in condition that may arise in the future is an idea central to the concept of prospective health. The session will be hosted at SH1 in the Sri City Campus.
